Le Hygge, c’est l’art du bonheur à la danoise qui consiste à ralentir notre rythme de vie, à porter notre linge mou et à savourer les petits moments de la vie avec les personnes que nous aimons en toute simplicité. Cet art, en plus de se vivre à travers les relations humaines, se traduit aussi dans le choix de décor.
Par exemple, dans un décor Hygge, on retrouve des mélanges de textures, l’exploitation des matières naturelles et l’utilisation du blanc comme couleur de base. Les meubles sont simples et possèdent des lignes sobres et l’éclairage à la chandelle est omniprésent.
